Marcin is a visual artist from Poland specialising in figurative sculpture, painting and drawing. He started his art education at the age of 15 when he entered the Kenar artistic high School, Zakopane. There he developed and mastered the techniques of wood carving, casting, bronze, ceramic. In that period, the young artist was offered to take part in various residencies and workshops in Poland and abroad (France, Germany).
After completing his Diploma, Marcin went on to study Art and Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, and graduated in 2009 with an MA degree in Sculpture. In Gdansk, Marcin acquired the skills and the expertise in mastering the human anatomy and drawing. He worked with a wide range of materials: stone, resins, faux stones, plaster and concrete. During the course of his studies the artist created multiple large scale figures many of which were commissioned to be showcased internationally.
In Edinburgh he underwent 6 months course of drawing at The Academy of Realist Art. In his artwork he shows great admiration to human body, it’s shapes, colours and variety of forms. It’s also analyse of human sexuality and desires. Since the beginning of 2015 Marcin along with couple of other artists established the Art collective, “Naked Aye Collective” that gathers other creatives working on the topic of the human body. The ambition of the Collective is to give space and ways for artists to collaborate, exhibit and educate.
In 2014 he has begun to run untutored life drawing classes at Leith School of Art and he works there since. He teaches at Eric Liddle Center in Morningside, Edinburgh, watercolour painting classes. From August 2017 he incite a collaboration with Poldrate art centre where he teaches figure drawing.
