What Society Desires: Chelsie Dysart

By minagreen · On

“A project under the theme of systems of power. The project stemmed from this theme by vigorously researching and exploring various research methods to see why society is so vain and perpetuates insecurities about the way we look. The research had in fact concluded that we do tend to follow celebrity culture in trends and appearance as we visually try to mold our image into someone else.

This was interesting to me, and as I began to consider how I can visually present this I wanted to question further: why do we want to look like celebrities? I have altered text to present the characteristics which we as society find desirable within that celebrity culture which we are force fed through newspapers, magazines and tv in our everyday life.”
